Washington State Patrol Seeking Additional Witnesses to Hit and Run Collision

On January 19, 2018 at approximately 7:00 a.m., Washington State Patrol (WSP) responded to a car versus pedestrian Hit and Run Collision on the on-ramp from 4th Street to southbound Interstate 5 (I-5) in Marysville. The pedestrian was struck by an unidentified white Dodge Ram pickup truck and suffered serious injuries. According to witnesses, the pickup truck pulled over to the right shoulder several times before continuing southbound I-5. The WSP is seeking additional witnesses or anyone with knowledge of this collision. If you were traveling through the area around this time and have a dash camera mounted in your vehicle, we urge you to review the footage for any possible leads. If you believe you have any information that can assist us with this investigation please contact WSP at Detective Craig Cardinal at (360)757-2008 or

In 2017, the WSP investigated 3,054 Hit and Run Collisions throughout the entire state. Troopers in District 7 (Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom and Island Counties) investigated 538 of those Hit and Run Collisions. Unfortunately due to the lack of information of each fleeing vehicle, troopers in District 7 were only able to solve nearly 28% of these collisions. Without the public’s assistance in obtaining a license plate of fleeing vehicles, the victims of Hit and Run Collisions have a low likelihood of justice.
