Spokane – On June 16, 2018 at 8:30 p.m., Washington State Patrol (WSP) troopers arrested a homicide suspect wanted for murder out of New York State.
The suspect was spotted by an Automated License Plate Reader in Idaho on the night of June 16. The Idaho State Police alerted troopers that the suspect was heading westbound on Interstate-90 across the state line. Just minutes later, WSP Trooper Senger observed the vehicle near the Spokane Valley Mall and called for back-up to conduct a high-risk stop. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and was booked into the Spokane County Jail. The suspect’s vehicle was impounded to the WSP’s evidence lot, waiting a search warrant to seek further evidence of crimes.
The suspect will be extradited back to New York, where he will face murder charges for the death of his girlfriend.
Thanks to the WSP Field Operations Bureau, WSP Criminal Investigation Division, WSP Crime Scene Response Team, Idaho State Police, and Rochester PD for their assistance.
