Hit and Run Driver Arrested

Vancouver -- On Sunday, July 30, 2017, at approximately 9:29 pm, a one vehicle versus motorcycle hit and run collision occurred westbound State Route 500, just east of Andresen Road. The running vehicle was described as a black "Honda-style" passenger car. According to the injured motorcycle rider, Daniel Rowe, the black passenger car swerved into his lane, forcing him to swerve to avoid being struck. Because of the danger posed by the passenger car, Rowe accelerated in an effort to create distance from the swerving vehicle. The black passenger car approached the motorcycle at a high rate of speed, striking it from behind, ejecting Rowe and throwing him to the ground where he landed in the left lane. The black passenger car fled the scene without stopping, leaving Rowe with multiple broken ribs and a fractured scapula.

Evidence left behind at the scene indicated the fleeing vehicle was a 2003-2007 Mitsubishi Galant, which fit the description given by Rowe and witnesses. On July 31, 2017, a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant with fresh collision damage was located near a residence in Vancouver. Detectives were able to confirm through collision dynamics and evidence left at the scene, this was a match to the vehicle that injured Rowe.

Detectives arrested Trevon Christensen on August 7, 2017 for Felony Hit and Run and booked into him into the Clark County Jail. Christensen admitted to detectives he was driving the Galant when it struck Rowe's motorcycle.

Although still under investigation, Detectives are pleased to bring closure to Rowe and his family. A check through the Washington State Department of Licensing showed Christensen's driver's license was revoked in the second degree at the time of the collision.
