WSP Seeking Witnesses to a Vehicular Assault

King County -- At approximately 8:22pm on April 15, 2017, the Washington State Patrol(WSP)responded to a two car serious injury collision on SR 203 just south of 288th.

The responding troopers determined that a 2016 Ford Focus, driven by Gerald L. King of Port Angeles was traveling southbound on SR 203 when it crossed the center line and struck a 2005 Hyundai Tucson head on. The Tucson was being driven by a mother who had her 10 year old son as a passenger. All three individuals were transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The 10 year old boy sustained serious injuries and is still recovering at Harborview.

Further investigation led investigators to place Mr. King in custody for DUI in addition to Vehicular Assault due to the nature of injuries to the 10 year old passenger. A search warrant for blood was obtained and executed with results pending from the Washington State Patrol Toxicology Lab.

WSP Detectives are seeking witnesses with any information in reference to this collision. Please contact Detective Mauro at (425) 401-7746 or by email at
