WSP Conducting DUI Emphasis on Black Friday

King County -- The Washington State Patrol (WSP) will have extra DUI patrols out this Friday, November 25. The focus will be on I-90, I-5, I-405 and SR 520 leading in and out of the metropolitan areas.

The Impaired Driving Section of the WSP will also deploy the Mobile Impaired Driving Unit (MIDU). The MIDU will be set up at a central location to promote efficiency in processing those arrested for DUI and allow the arresting troopers to return to patrolling in a shorter amount of time.

The MIDU will be available for tours at 10am Friday morning at the WSP King County Headquarters located at 2803 156th Ave SE, Bellevue, WA 98007. WSP personnel will also be available for interviews and to answer questions about the MIDU.

Please contact Trooper Rick Johnson at (425) 766-0812 or by email at if interested in touring the MIDU.

The Washington State Patrol would like to take this opportunity to remind drivers of the dangers of impaired driving as we enter this Holiday Season. It is imperative to drive sober! Plan ahead and make this a safe Holiday Season.
