Washington State Patrol Assisting Clallam County with Officer Involved Shooting
Forks -- Detectives with the Washington State Patrol are assisting the Clallam County Sheriff's office investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred overnight near Forks. The incident occurred Friday at approximately 5:15 pm at the Lake Pleasant Mobile Home RV Park.
Officers responded to the location for a welfare check and were confronted by an armed adult male. After a brief confrontation with the suspect at least one officer ultimately used deadly force and the adult male suspect involved was deceased at the scene.
Detectives with the Washington State Patrol were called in to assist the Sheriff's office with the shooting investigation. The two responding officers involved, Officer Michael Gentry with the Forks Police Department and Sergeant Edwin Anderson of the Clallam County Sheriff's office were not injured in the confrontation. The deceased male suspect's name will be released pending next of kin notification.
