Collision Kills One and Sends Four Others to Hospital

Pierce County -- At approximately 2:38am this morning, a one car collision occurred, WB SR 410 at MP 48. One passenger passed away at the scene and four others were transported to area hospitals


A 1990 Honda Accord, driven by Bryson Stubbles (18), was leaving a bonfire party in the area and traveling WB SR 410 when he lost control and left the roadway. The vehicle went over the embankment and struck a tree with the passenger side of the vehicle. The right front passenger, Paco Frees (18), was pronounced dead at the scene. Stubbles, Aaron Hewes (20), and a 16 year old female were transported to Harborview Medical Center with injuries ranging from life threatening to serious. Lorenzo Dawson (18), was transported to Tacoma General Hospital with serious injuries.

Due to evidence of impairment, Bryson Stubbles is currently in custody for one count of Vehicular Homicide and three counts of Vehicular Assault.
