Fraternal Order of Police Select Kitsap Trooper as Law Enforcement
Officer of the Year

Trooper Matt McMillen

Bremerton -- Trooper Matt McMillen #695 was selected as Law Enforcement Officer of the Year by the Fraternal Order of Police Evergreen Lodge 1.
Matt has over 23 years of service with the Washington State Patrol and has worked in several different specialty positions during that time. He was commissioned on October 1, 1994 as a member of the 77th Trooper Basic Training Class and assigned to Seattle, transferring to Bremerton in 1995.

Trooper McMillen worked in Tacoma as a CID Detective - Auto Theft Unit from 1999 to 2011. Outside of normal patrol duties, Matt is currently a Collision Technical Specialist (CTS), Field Training Officer (FTO) and a member of the District 8 Rapid Deployment Force (RDF) Team.

Matt exemplifies the professional image of a WSP Trooper and Sergeant Scott Gordon, Matt's current supervisor, says Matt is "truly a supervisor's ideal employee" and describes Matt as a "dedicated, hardworking and productive individual with integrity and work ethic".
