Twenty-Nine Firefighters Begin Recruit Academy Training

State Fire Marshal Charles M. Duffy announced the start of Class 2016-03 Firefighter Recruit Academy at the Washington State Patrol Fire Training Academy, North Bend, Washington.

On August 4, 2016, twenty-nine firefighter recruits started a 12-week Recruit Academy that meets National Fire Protection Association 1001 and 472 Standards for Firefighter Professional Qualifications at the Firefighter I & II, Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations Levels. The recruits will learn fire service principles through classroom instruction and rigorous hands-on live fire training.
