Mukilteo Incident 07/30/2016
On July 30, 2016, at approximately 1:50 AM, troopers in the Lewis County area stopped a vehicle (2016 Subaru WRX) containing a person of interest related to a shooting in the Mukilteo area. The vehicle was stopped SB Interstate Five at approximately milepost 75 after being observed by troopers traveling approximately 18 MPH over the posted speed limit of 50 MPH.
A high risk stop procedure was used and a 19 year old male driver, and only occupant, was taken into custody without incident by troopers. Troopers were assisted with officers from the Chehalis and Centralia Police Departments during the stop.
Troopers were requested by investigators to secure the vehicle and made arrangements to have the vehicle transported back to the Mukilteo area, along with the male driver.
The lead agency in this case will be the Mukilteo Police Department. A press release from the Mukilteo Police Department is scheduled to be released this afternoon at approximately 1:30 PM.
