Honoring Our Fallen and Employees


The 2016 Washington State Patrol Memorial Service and Award Ceremony will be held to honor those WSP employees who have dedicated their careers to public service.

Beginning at 9:00, Governor Jay Inslee and WSP Chief John Batiste will honor the memory of fallen troopers. The WSP Memorial Service will be held in the courtyard of the Patrol's Academy in Shelton.

At 10:00, the patrol's annual Awards Ceremony will honor currently-serving employees who distinguished themselves in 2015.

Directions to Academy:

From Interstate 5 in Olympia, take Exit 104 (Ocean Beaches) to Highway 101.
Travel approximately 6 miles northwest, then take the Shelton/Port Angeles/Highway 101 exit. Continue north on Highway 101 for about 17 miles.
Turn Left (West) on SR 102 Dayton-Airport Road. (Signed as State Patrol Academy/Washington Corrections Center.)
Go west approximately 1/2 mile to the Academy entrance, which is on your left.
Watch for the sign that says WSP Academy/Shelton Detachment.
