Road Rage Incident Leads to Arrest
King County -- A driver involved in an act of road rage was booked into King County Jail by Washington State Patrol (WSP) troopers after displaying a hand gun at another motorist. The incident, which occurred yesterday (Wednesday) morning, began as a dispute between two motorists while traveling on westbound I-90 near Issaquah.
The confrontation escalated when the suspect displayed, what appeared to be a black, revolver handgun, at the other driver. Troopers later observed the suspect vehicle, a 1993 Dodge van, and conducted a traffic stop on I-90 near Bellevue Way.
Through their investigation, troopers discovered that the gun that the suspect had brandished was actually an airsoft, Smith and Wesson replica. Airsoft guns use compressed air to send a plastic material through the barrel. The realistic features of an airsoft gun make it popular for training with the military and law enforcement.
The suspect, a 47 year old male from North Bend, was booked into King County Jail for unlawful display of a firearm; a gross misdemeanor.
