State Patrol Detectives Seek Witnesses to Multi-Vehicle Collision

The Washington State Patrol's Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating a four-vehicle serious injury collision that occurred Saturday, July 4, 2015 at 8:38 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-5 at milepost 100 in Thurston County. Troopers were investigating a prior two vehicle fatality collision at this location when they briefly stopped traffic to take roadway measurements. The driver of a northbound Chevrolet Tahoe was unable to stop in time and collided with the rear of a Toyota van. The force of the impact projected the Toyota forward into a Pontiac which struck another Chevrolet ahead of it.

MAIT detectives are examining all aspects that lead to this collision and seek additional witnesses to the actual event or anything leading up to or after the crash. Witnesses told detectives that there were numerous vehicles in the stopped traffic, including at least two semi-trucks. Detectives would like to speak with all of these drivers.

If you witnessed anything, or know someone who has information about this collision, please call Detective Ed Collins or Detective Ben McBride at (360) 805-1153.
