State Patrol Detectives Seek Witnesses to Collision Involving Deputy

The Washington State Patrol's Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the four-vehicle, one pedestrian serious injury collision that occurred on Friday, April 17, 2015 at approximately 11:45 a.m. The collision occurred in the city limits of Everett at the intersection of 23rd Street and Rockefeller Avenue. An on-duty Snohomish County Sheriff's deputy was traveling south on Rockefeller in his marked Ford Crown Victoria patrol vehicle when he collided with a westbound Honda Element. The Ford rotated counterclockwise and collided with a pedestrian standing at the back of his parked Ford F250 pickup. The Ford was also projected forward into a parked Chevrolet Colorado pickup.

The pedestrian was severely injured in the collision and remains at Harborview Medical Center. The deputy, two passengers in his vehicle and the driver of the Element all sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Providence Medical Center for treatment.

Detectives are seeking witnesses to the collision or any events leading up to it. If you witnessed anything, or know someone who has information, you are asked to call Detective Sergeant Jerry Cooper at (425) 508-0602 or Detective Ed Collins at (425) 766-4084.
