Update to "Road Rage" Fatality Collision on April 8th
King County -- Tyler Percival, one of two drivers arrested in the three car fatality collision on April 8, 2015, southbound I-5/Rose Street has been released from Harborview Medical Center and booked into the King County Jail. Percival, who is 21, was driving a blue 2005 Dodge Neon that struck the rear of a black 2010 Chevy HHR around 10:35 pm in an apparent case of "road rage". The passenger in Percival's vehicle, Andrea Dickey, died at the scene.
Washington State Patrol troopers arrested Percival and Joseph Gumser (30 years old) for vehicular homicide. Gumser, who was driving the Chevy HHR, was released from the hospital last week and has been charged with vehicular homicide.
WSP detectives believe the dispute started near the on-ramp from I-90 to SB I-5. This led to a series of events where Gumser suddenly applied his brakes. Percival was not able to stop and struck the rear of the Chevy HHR. A third vehicle, a 2006 Infiniti G35, struck the rear of the Neon. That driver was not injured. The female passenger in the Chevy HHR received minor injuries and was also released from the hospital.
Troopers also suspect that Gumser and Percival were impaired by alcohol.
The WSP is asking that anyone that may have seen anything related to this incident contact Detective Russ Haake at firstname.lastname@example.org or 425-401-7717.
