#askWSP: Keeping Your Family Safe Online
- WSP Detectives To Be Available for Questions on Twitter -
Olympia -- Two Washington State Patrol detectives with extensive experience in computer crimes against children will be available on Wednesday afternoon for a 90-minute Q&A session on internet safety.
The event will run from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Seattle time, and will offer everyone the opportunity to ask questions of the detectives about how to stay safe on the internet.
The detectives are:
- Sgt. Carlos Rodriguez, commander of the state’s Missing and Exploited Children’s Task Force (MECTF.) He’s most recently been involved in the much-publicized arrests of internet predators in Elma and Spanaway.
- Sgt. Jesse Regalado, commander of the agency’s High –Tech Crimes Unit. Sgt. Regalado is a recognized expert at recovering information off the hard drives of both missing persons and suspects.
Simply tweet your questions to the hashtag “#askWSP” and the detectives will respond. The only topics off-limits will be anything related to active cases.
The internet is a safe place with sometimes dangerous people present. We encourage parents, school and community leaders, and others who mentor children to take advantage of this unprecedented access to two of our state’s leaders in keeping kids safe on the internet.
