Weekend Traffic Impact in Eastern Washington
The Washington State Patrol (WSP) will have all available units working this weekend for two major events that have the potential to impact traffic in eastern Washington.
Opening Cougar Football Game; Pullman, WA
Saturday kicks off the opening home game for Washginton State University (WSU) Cougar football which means fans from all over eastern Washington will be converging on the WSU campus in Pullman. Motorists should expect to see a substantial increase in traffic volumes both before and after the game.
I-90 Construction Project; Eastbound I-90 from Liberty Lake to State Line
The Idaho Transportation Department will be closing eastbound I-90 at the state line Sunday September 9, 2012 and again on Monday September 10, 2012 starting at 7:00 pm through 5:00 am due to a construction project on I-90 in Idaho. Eastbound traffic will be diverted onto the State Line Exit 299. Motorist should expect to see traffic delays on eastbound I-90 from Liberty Lake to the state line.
Motorists should drive with caution, be patient, and not get in a hurry.
The WSP is dedicated to maintaining safe roadways and preventing injury and fatal collisions from occurring so we are reminding motorists to obey the posted speed limits, utilize your occupant restraint devices and never drink and drive. If you encounter a dangerous driver, please call 911 as soon as it is safe for you to do so. With your help we can prevent these tragic collisions from occurring.
