Eastern Washington University (EWU) Commencement
The Washington State Patrol (WSP) is asking motorists to drive with caution and be prepared for traffic congestion in and around the Cheney area and EWU’s campus on Saturday.
EWU’s commencement starts at 8:00 a.m. and will conclude at 2:00 p.m. Whether you are traveling to EWU’s commencement or just happen to be in the Cheney area you should expect a substantial increase in traffic volumes and pedestrian traffic before and after the ceremony.
The main route into Cheney from Spokane is to take the Cheney/Four Lakes Exit 270 onto westbound SR-904. Motorists should also be aware that they can get into Cheney from Exit 264 by taking West Salnave Road or by taking the Tyler Exit 257 onto eastbound SR-904.
Motorists returning to Spokane from Cheney should be alert for east bound I-90 lane restrictions in the area of Sunset Hill reduced to two through lanes.
The Washington State Patrol is dedicated to a safe motoring public so please remember to drive the speed limit, fasten your seatbelt and never drink and drive.
