State Patrol Detectives Seek Witnesses in Whatcom County Fatality Collision
The Washington State Patrol Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) is investigating the car/dump truck fatality collision that occurred at approximately 7:15 a.m. last Friday, May 4, 2012, on SR 544 in Whatcom County.
A Honda Accord was traveling east on the highway when it crossed the centerline near Mecklem Road and collided head-on with a westbound empty Kenworth dump truck. The driver and one passenger in the Honda died as a result of their injuries. One additional passenger in the Honda and the driver of the truck were injured. A witness to part of the event told detectives that there was traffic in the area.
