Washington State Patrol Seeks Additional Witnesses
The Washington State Patrol’s Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the fatality collision that occurred on Monday, October 17, 2011 at approximately 10:54 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-90 just east of Snoqualmie Pass. The collision involved three tractor/trailer rigs and two passenger vehicles. Preliminary reports indicate four of the vehicles were stopped in the lone eastbound lane. A truck combination was the lead vehicle followed by a Buick Lesabre, second tractor trailer and lastly a Jeep Cherokee. The third truck collided with the rear of the Jeep forcing it ahead into the trailer of the middle truck. That truck struck the rear of the Lesabre which in turn struck the rear of the trailer on the first truck. Both occupants in the Jeep died at the scene. MAIT detectives are seeking witnesses that may have seen any of the events prior to and leading up to or the collision itself.
