Good to Know - Commercial Vehicle Division
Olympia, WA -- Do you ever wonder why the big trucks have to pull off the highway into a weigh stations to be inspected? The WSP’s Commercial Vehicle Division (CVD) inspected over 119,000 commercial vehicles last year and received the 2010 Distinguished Service Award for Highway Safety for commercial vehicles. In 2011, the American Transportation Research Institute recognized the Washington State Patrol for being a ‘Top Tier’ state for reducing truck collisions.
This month’s edition of the WSP series “Good to Know” will explain what our Commercial Vehicle Division does every day to keep our roadways safe.
“The Washington State Patrol Commercial Vehicle Division, in partnership with federal, state, local, and industry partners, works hard every day to make Washington roadways the safest in the nation,” said Captain Darrin Grondel, Commercial Vehicle Division Commander. “Our CVD officers are highly skilled and dedicated professionals committed to safety.”
