Troopers Save Man Attempting to Commit Suicide
On September 29, 2011, at 3:53 p.m., Trooper Scott Lasher and Trooper Steve White were traveling across the Latah Creek Bridge on Sunset Boulevard when they observed an intoxicated male attempting to jump off the south side of the bridge. The 60 year old male had one leg over the safety railing and was starting to put his other leg over the railing to jump when Lasher and White rushed up behind him and pulled him to safety. The male was taken into protective custody and transported to Sacred Heart Hospital for an evaluation.
Captain Jeff Otis, WSP District 4 Commander, stated “There is no doubt that the quick thinking and actions of Trooper Lasher and Trooper White saved this man’s life. I am very proud of both of them.”
