Washington State Patrol Seeking Information
Wapato, WA - This morning at 6:05 a.m., Yakima County Sheriff’s deputies and Washington State Patrol troopers responded to the scene of a car-pedestrian fatality collision at the intersection of W. Parker Heights Loop and Yakima Valley Highway, four miles northwest of Wapato.
The victim, an 11-year-old male was crossing the Yakima Valley Highway, when he was struck and killed. The vehicle stopped briefly at the scene and left. Witnesses describe the vehicle as a silver or grey colored small or compact type pick-up.
Troopers are asking for help in identifying the vehicle and driver. Anyone with any information concerning the collision are asked to call (509) 249-6743 or (509) 249-6753.
