28-Year-Old Tacoma Man Killed in High Speed Motorcycle Collision
Pierce County -- Friday evening just after 6 p.m., 28-year-old Brandon A. Butler was killed in a high speed motorcycle collision in Tacoma. Butler was riding a 2000 Aprilia RSV 1000cc motorcycle north bound I-5 exiting to I-705.
Butler attempted to make a lane change and lost control of his motorcycle. He struck a concrete barrier and then struck a traffic advisory board on the left shoulder. Butler was pronounced deceased at the collision scene by medical personnel.
Butler had a motorcycle endorsement and he was wearing a USDOT compliant helmet. This is the fourth motorcycle fatality collision troopers in District 1 (Thurston and Pierce Counties) have investigated where high speeds were directly involved. Please remember to ride within your ability and always obey the posted speed limit.
