Driver Ejected in Collision on Skookumchuck Road
Thurston County -- A 28-year-old Tenino man is in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center after his 1985 GMC pickup rolled on Skookumchuck Road. At approximately 9:39 p.m., the truck was heading westbound on Skookumchuck Road and left the right shoulder. The driver overcorrected, sending the truck sideways into the eastbound lane and shoulder which caused the truck to roll. The driver was not wearing his safety belt and was ejected out the passenger side window of the truck.
Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in this collision, but the injuries could have been prevented if the driver was wearing his safety belt.
