Washington State Patrol Increases Patrols Along Route 4 Near Landslide
Wahkiakum/Cowlitz County – The Washington State Patrol has increased its presence in Wahkiakum and Cowlitz counties to assist with traffic congestion and other issues during the closure of State Route 4 near Stella. Drivers should be prepared for delays and are encouraged to avoid the area if possible.
Drivers are asked not to call emergency dispatch centers for information, but instead utilize existing resources for up-to-date travel and alternate route information.
The ferry Wahkiakum is running between Puget Island and Westport, Oregon 24 hours a day. However, drivers should expect long delays due to high demand for ferry services.
http://www.co.wahkiakum.wa.us/ - Drivers can access the “Wahkiakum on the Move” shuttle schedule and pickup locations. The current ferry schedule can be accessed through this link as well.
http://wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/trafficalerts/ - WSDOT will post updated information as it becomes available concerning repairs to the hillside, road closures and updated and/or changes to detour routes.
