Washington State Patrol License Investigation Unit
On November 12, 2010 the Washington State Patrol (WSP) will host a media event showcasing its License Investigation Unit (LIU). WSP District 5 LIU was reinstated by legislative mandate as of July 1, 2010. The LIU has been operational since that date, and is now positioned to provide information to the local media regarding their operations.
The event will consist of an emphasis patrol where the media is invited to ride-along, and a press conference. The press conference will be held at the WSP District 5 office, located at 11018 NE 51st Circle, Vancouver WA at 10 AM. Speakers at the event will be State Representative Jim Moeller, WSP Assistant Chief Curt Hattell and District 5 Commander Robert Johnson.
Schedule of events are as follows:
0700-0730 Briefing at District 5, Media link up with Troopers.
0745 - 0815: On station at Shahala Middle School. 0815: Move toIllahee Elementary School. |

0915: Secure from emphasis, move to District Office.
1000: Press Conference
