Road Rage Incident Leads to Arrest on Weapon and DUI Charges
Gorst – A road rage incident on June 19, 2010 led to the arrest of a Federal Way man on charges of DUI and weapon brandishing. The incident began about 8:40 p.m. as two vehicles were traveling south-bound on SR3 near the merge with SR304. One of the drivers became angered by the actions of the other driver and began slowing and impeding traffic. This erratic behavior continued between the two motorists east-bound on SR16 until the suspect vehicle exited at SR160 and brandished a firearm out the driver’s side window at the victim. The victim then called 9-1-1 from their cellular phone, providing a description of the suspect vehicle.
The suspect vehicle was found a short time later parked at a local restaurant. After the vehicle left, it was stopped east-bound SR16 east of SR160 where the driver was found to be in possession of a .45 caliber handgun. The driver, 26 year old Brian A. Glover of Federal Way, was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for DUI and Unlawful Display of a Firearm, and booked into the Kitsap County Jail.
The Washington State Patrol (WSP) encourages motorists observing erratic or unsafe driving not to engage other motorists, but to instead report the incident using their cellular phones by dialing 9-1-1 with a direction of travel and provide a description of the vehicle including the color, year, make, body style, and license.
