One of Washington State Patrol’s Most Wanted Captured
Detectives from the Washington State Patrol (WSP) in King County captured one of their most wanted suspects at his place of employment today.
Cecilio Huerta-Carrizal seriously injured his passenger in a vehicle collision on February 5, 1999. He was charged with vehicular assault and it was believed he had fled to Mexico the day after the collision. A warrant was issued and Huerta-Carrizal was placed on the WSP’s most wanted website. Recently detectives received a tip from an individual who had viewed Huerta-Carrizal’s picture on the website. The tipster believed he was working in King County. With the assistance of WSP’s crime lab, detectives were able to match fingerprints from two separate immigration contacts in 1997 and 2002. When his 2002 fingerprints were taken Huerta-Carrizal had assumed a new name and was using that name when he was captured today. He was found in possession of several Washington identification cards, one with his assumed name of Jose Cruz Renteria-Orduno.
Huerta-Carrizal was arrested without incident and has been booked into the King County Jail.
