Welcome to the District 7's Web page. It is an honor to serve the citizens of this state as the District 7 Commander.

I am very proud of our employees here in District 7. They work hard every day to ensure your travel on our highways is a safe one. Please enjoy this web page, and if you have any further questions, feel free to contact us.

District 7 is responsible for the northern Puget Sound Region, covering from the King/Snohomish County line to the Canadian Border, from the top of the Cascades through the San Juan Islands. We actively patrol Snohomish, Skagit, Island, and Whatcom Counties, and have jurisdictional responsibility for San Juan County, assisting the San Juan County Sheriff when requested.

District 7's jurisdiction includes the Washington State Ferry routes and their terminals at Mukilteo, Clinton, Edmonds, and Anacortes.

    District Goals and Objectives



    Goal 1 – Reduce the number of injury collisions on state routes and interstate highways caused by drivers under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol by using strict enforcement practices.

    Goal 2 – Reduce the number of injury collisions involving aggressive drivers by using strict enforcement practices.

    Goal 3 – Increase seat belt use rate on state routes and interstate highways by using strict enforcement practices.

    Goal 4 – Reduce the number of speed-related collisions on state routes and interstate highways by using strict enforcement practices.

    Goal 5 - Reduce the number of collisions relating to following to close on state routes and interstate highways using strict enforcement practices.

     
    Major Programs and Services



    Interagency Bomb Truck
  • Interagency Bomb Squad
    Headquartered at the Marysville District Office is an Interagency Bomb Squad. This team consists of two members each from the Washington State Patrol, Everett Police Department, and the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office. The team provides response to explosives and explosive devices in the northwestern portion of Washington State.

  • K9 Units
    District 7 has three narcotic K9 units. These units assist local, state, and federal agencies.

    K9 Leon and Trooper Paul Wells Narcotic K9 Units
    A partnership was formed with HIDTA (High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) to purchase the four narcotic canines currently assigned to District 7. These K9 units are used to stem the flow of illegal narcotics along the I-5 corridor.
