District 2 is also home to:

  • Washington State Patrol Crime Laboratory
  • Port of Seattle
  • Washington State Convention Center
  • Starbuck’s Corporate Headquarters
  • Boeing Field, King County Airport
  • Coleman Ferry Terminal
  • Washington State Fire Training Academy
  • Microsoft Corporate Headquarters

Within District 2 alone, Troopers investigate 30% of Washington State’s collisions and conduct 29% of all self-initiated physical assists. The Communications Center in District 2 receives over thirty-thousand 911 calls per month ranging in variety from minor collisions to major traffic crimes in progress. These calls for service equate to 27% of the statewide total.

Captain Burns is both honored and humbled by the opportunity to lead the largest district in the state, "I am proud of the commissioned personnel and staff in this district for their daily commitment, dedication and professionalism while working in a stressful and high profile area."
