Lieutenant Dale Alexander began his career with the State Patrol in 1987. He was commissioned as a trooper in 1989, serving in Tacoma and Olympia. He promoted to sergeant in 1999 assigned to Goldendale and later Olympia. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2004 assigned to Tacoma and currently oversees Thurston County line detachments.

Lieutenant Alexander has nearly 22 years of service in the United States Army, and he is currently a Command Sergeant Major in the United States Army Reserves on Fort Lewis.

Lieutenant Julie A. Johnson began her career with the State Patrol in 1986, serving as a governor’s mansion cadet, trooper and detective in Pierce and King counties. She was promoted to Sergeant in 1997 and assigned to the Field Operations Bureau in South King County. In 2000, she transferred to the Human Resources Division. In 2002, she transferred to the Office of Professional Standards where she worked as a detective sergeant. She was promoted to Lieutenant in 2003 and served as the Region 2 Commander for the Commercial Vehicle Division. Lieutenant Johnson transferred to District One in September 2004, where she oversees the Tacoma freeway detachments.

Lieutenant Sean Hartsock graduated from Washington State University in 1985 and joined the WSP in 1987.  He was commissioned in 1988 and held assignments in North Seattle, Bellingham, and the Training Division.  Sean was promoted to Sergeant in 1997 and assigned to CVD, Olympia, and the Training Division.  He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2002 and served as the ACCESS and Collision Records Commander, Internal Affairs Commander, and FOB Headquarters Assistant Commander.  Lieutenant Hartsock transferred to District One in May 2007 and commands the Thurston County detachments and the motorcycle units.

District Secretary
 

Secretary Administrative Rebecca Anderson is District Secretary in Tacoma, where she provides administrative and secretarial support to the District One Commander and lieutenants in Pierce and Thurston counties. With previous state service, Mrs. Anderson began her career with the Washington State Patrol in November 1987 as a detachment secretary for East Pierce County line personnel, in the Midland area detachment office. When Tacoma WSP offices merged into their present location at the Combined Transportation Facility in March 1995, she continued to provide secretarial support for line personnel and supervised the administrative support unit. In 1997, Mrs. Anderson promoted to Secretary Administrative, assigned to her current position.
