Historical Artifacts Inventory

The Washington State Patrol maintains an inventory of historic artifacts and memorabilia which are frequently displayed at fairs and other public gatherings. The inventory of over 700 items includes old photographs, officer notebooks, uniforms and badges, a telegraph key, communications microphones, patches, road hazard lanterns, publications, radar speed meters, helmets, and scrapbooks.
Maintenance and use of the inventory is overseen by an Advisory Board whose membership includes volunteers both from within and outside the agency. The Patrol encourages public input, including the donations of cash or historical items.
Cash donations are used to refurbish and maintain the historical artifacts and to defray travel and transportation costs when items are transported for displays. The artifacts are currently refurbished and maintained exclusively through donations of time and money.
Members of the public who desire to donate to the WSP Historical Artifacts Inventory Fund can send checks, cashier's checks, or money orders to:
