    Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) recently honored the Washington State Patrol with the Outstanding Law Enforcement Agency Award for its work in 2008.  WSP troopers were responsible for arresting 20,240 impaired drivers or 45 percent of all impaired drivers arrested in Washington State in 2008. . . more
  • State Fire Marshal Wishes Residents a Fire Safe Holiday Season
    The Washington State Fire Marshal’s Office recommends safety be a top priority this holiday season. The risk of fires and burn injuries increases substantially with extra cooking activity and the increased use of holiday lights, candles and other decorations in the home. “Residents should also be careful when using home heating appliances such as fireplaces and space heaters,” says State Fire Marshal Mike Matlick. . . more
